iButton Solo and the iButton Solo Locker Lock—are our simplest locks. They come without software, and all setup is done right at the lock. That doesn’t mean they aren’t powerful, however: The new iButton Solo can handle up to 299 users and supervisors can set up iButtons to operate the lock by the hour or by the day or for one-time use. For example, a supervisor could set his iButton to operate the lock at any time; set an employee’s iButton to operate the lock only between business hours; and set a repairman’s iButton to operate the lock only once.
That’s a real benefit if you have many locks: You don’t have to go through the process of setting up each iButton on each lock. You can also generate an audit trail to see who used the lock and when, and the locks can handle more users: up to 1,000 for the CrossOver Locks.

Interconnected locks have several advantages for commercial use.interconnected locks by Schlage Locks are locks which combine both a standard cylindrical lock/latch mechanism with a deadbolt. The mechanism appears to be two separate components: a deadbolt lock and a cylindrical lock. To unlock a door from the outside, an interconnected lock requires inserting keys into both locking mechanisms. However, from the inside, both the cylindrical lock bar and the deadbolt lock can be released simultaneously with one single motion.

Lock company Schlage is launching Schlage Link, a suite of products to allow over-the-Web control of a home’s locks, lights, and thermostats. It also integrates with Webcams.
The new lock is the centerpiece of the system (as we would expect from a lock company). It can be opened by key, with a four-digit code, or through the online and mobile sites. The lock can also alert its owners via a mobile message when it’s opened or tampered with (when incorrect codes are entered multiple times in a row).
An online control center lets you program the system to turn on lights when someone enters the house or at certain times, to send your phone photos of your doorway when a door opens, and so on. You can enable and disable specific codes as you wish–useful to give service people access only at certain times, for instance.
